info on Corfu airportCorfu's International airport (Kapodistrias) is located around 3km to the south of the city of Corfu. It is only about 1km north of Pontikonisi. (Kerkyra) town.

There is only one road (route 25) from the airport to the city of Corfu and the walk into town takes about 40 minutes.

Corfu International Airport Ioannis Kapodistrias is named after Count Ioannis Antonios Kapodistrias, who was a well loved Greek diplomat in the early 1980s. But most people refer to it as "Corfu International".

It is modern and compact airport which operates mainly charter flights during the summer months from May until October and all year round daily domestic flights from Athens. Flights from Thessaloniki are available three times a week. There are also hydroplanes that connect Corfu to Ioannina town, Epirus, and Paxi island.

Monday is the busiest day and when you may have to wait quite some time for your baggage. Once through to the departure lounge there is a large seating area, a few shops to buy those last minute souvenirs and a cafe and bar, serving drinks, coffee and snacks.

A ride into Corfu city centre only takes about 10 minutes.

The majority of buses that are seen at the airport are hired by tour operators, as most holidays booked to Corfu include transportation to the hotel.

Corfu ferry servicesDuring the summer season ferry and hydrofoil transportation is enormously popular with the busiest routes from Corfu including Igoumenitsa, Lefkimmi, Paxos (Paxi), Patra and the Albanian city of Saranda with regular daily sailings .

High-speed ferries called Flying Dolphins are very speedy and therefore very popular and as Corfu is located on the Patra to Igoumenitsa routes ferries travel to far flung destinations including Venice.

You are advised to agree on a price before you set off the taxi: the normal price for a ride to holiday accommodation on the north east coast of Corfu is approximately €50.00 and €30.00 to the port and City of Corfu.

parking at Corfu AirportThere are not enough parking spaces at the airport: about 120 spaces for cars and 60 buses. The airport parking charges for short and long term parking are not publicised and they recommend that you telephone them for more details.

Parking in areas where it is not officially allowed is tolerated as long as it does not hold up the traffic: but park sensibly bearing in mind there are large tour buses coming and going at Corfu Airport.

info on Corfu airportThere is an information counter in the Arrivals Hall and a health centre in the terminal building.. The three counters for the airline companies open just before and after a flight.

There are no facilities for business travellers. Facilities for meetings, conferences and other business services can be found in the Corfu Palace Hotel.

There are a few facilities for the disabled, including an adapted restroom, telephones and reserved parking places. Travellers who need assistance at the airport should contact their airline.

There are ATM's, a money exchange office and a bank as well as a small post office.

Downstairs there is a small snack bar situated between the arrival and departure areas. They sell much cheaper sandwiches and snacks so if you want something to eat have it there and just buy a drink upstairs while you are waiting for your flight be called.
